Literature Text

I’m suffocating
Here under your wings
Trying hard to break free
To cut loose all these strings

No longer under your protection
I’m out here on my own
I’m wandering this world
So lost and alone

I’m scared of this freedom
I don’t know what to do
Can I handle this world?
Can I make it through?

I’m not sure I can do it
I’ve made so many mistakes
I want to come home
I don’t have what it takes

I submerge into sleep
And I awaken reborn
The death of the old “me”
I don’t stop to mourn

Through my journey
I see that I’ve grown
And what I know is
I had to learn on my own.
This is a poem I wrote last year for english class. It was accompanied by an essay that I did about (obviously) Siddhartha. I think it's crappy, but my teacher liked it so much, he cried. I ended up going from a C to an A!

I'm reading this book for a school project too. How coincidental.

Wow, this is amazing. Great job!
